Your Next Step in Adventure Running
Capra Alpine Club
It’s about tackling something a little bit bigger, and little bit more challenging than your typical weekend adventure. The Capra Alpine Club is a more advanced, objective-based running experience.
Geared towards intermediate and advanced runners with a solid mountain running base, the Alpine Club is the perfect next step for those who have graduated from our 3-day Alpine Camp, and/or those who might not have the time to plan multiple alpine adventures throughout the summer.
Time is Precious
Alpine Club is a way to accomplish some bigger alpine adventure days throughout the summer, without actually having to plan them. You don’t have to worry about tracking down partners, finding a new route, or scouring weather reports.
We'll check the weather, plan the route, and schedule the day; you just have to show up and have the best running adventure possible. We make it easier for you to get out in terrain that will make your summer one to remember. It's the simplest way for you to squeeze in some big alpine adventure runs this season and make some new friends along the way.
Our team has some of the most experienced mountain runners on the West Coast, having tackled some of the most challenging terrain in the Sea to Sky corridor, both on foot and on skis. We have a knack for exploring many of the lesser travelled gems right in our backyard, so you can be sure the objectives will be fun, challenging, and will help take you further off your own personal map and beyond the everyday.
How It Works
Alpine Club adventures will be single-day objectives, taking place on 6 Saturdays throughout the summer; two in July, two in August, and two in September. You choose 4 of the dates that work for you, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Logistics, timeline, and gear list will be sent to you 24–48 hours prior to the adventure. All you have to do is show up in the morning and be ready for something awesome. We are hoping to change the way you see the mountains.
What to Expect
Each Club excursion will be a full-day adventure, including a morning briefing, some travel, and a coffee/snack stop. Be prepared to set an early alarm, and don’t plan on being home for dinner; it’s an adventure after all! You can expect between 6 and 10 hours of outdoor time, both on and off trail, with some significant elevation gain.
We will make several stops throughout the day to eat, drink, and take in the views. Building on the lessons from Alpine Camp, the Club will include some teaching skills and techniques, and we will go over any applicable information and technical skills required en route.
Given the priorities of each objective (fun, elevation, and technical terrain) speed will not be a focus. You will likely be out for the entire day, but we will always stay together as a group.
